WOOD 2010 and Wood Summit Småland 2010 - the third major exhibition for the promotion of wood construction and architecture to be held at Virserum Art Museum |

Virserum Art Museum has been arranging Sweden’s biggest exhibitions on wood and
wood architecture since 2004. This year's exhibition is called WOOD 2010. The
theme is the climate, sustainability / sustainable cities and the
world's best wood architecture. The theme has resulted in the call for an
Architecture of Necessity which was launched in September and has been
disseminated via email. Wood Summit 2010 is done in conjunction with WOOD 2010. The seminar intends to tackle issues of climate change, urban planning, sustainable development and the role of wood and architecture in society. Please, find the program for Wood Summit in Swedish and English. You will find the fees and more information on the application form. This year's exhibition will showcase the world's best wood architecture. We are looking for suggestions for, and examples of this. They can be in the form of texts, drawings, pictures, details or models. Participation is free. The exhibition takes place between 9 May and 19 September 2010 in Virserum, Sweden, and will then go on a tour of Scandinavia and Europe for a period of approximately two years where it will been seen by an estimated 200,000 visitors. The exhibition will be presented in a bilingual catalogue that will accompany the tour.For companies that wish to have a presence, there are many possibilities. as exhibiting outdoors on the Art Museum grounds or to advertise in our supplement to Sweden's biggest broadsheet daily Dagens Nyheter. Please get in touch as soon as possible with your suggestions and ideas. The deadline for submitting your ideas is 1 March 2010. Art and woodwork will also be exhibited.
